EBC brake pads have a 4 application range that caters for all needs however having evaluated the performance differences we have concluded that under normal road conditions that the following catorgories best describe the different pad performance on a Nissan 300zx

Yellow stuff strictly track level pads give almost no cold response but have a very high temperature stability ..... wear factor to disc is high

Red stuff fast road and track give poor cold response with good higher temperature stability................................ wear factor to pads & disc is meduim

Green stuff Entry level fast road give reasonable cold response with added higher temperature stability ...............wear factor to pads is meduim

MINTEX ROAD PAD ..............Good all round response with long life and kind to your discs

MINTEX EXTREAM PAD...........High performance pad for the road, good cold temperature response and excellent high temp stability

Before any upgrade disc`s and pads are fitted ensure calipers are working correctly or either damage or poor performance are likely,

Whilst standard disc size and type may not seem street cool these discs used with EBC pads stay just that.

But add 2 litres of Synthetic brake fluid to the order and it all becomes a substantial upgraded at less cost then some disc only packages.

EBC have discontinued the Kevlar range of front brake pads that we included in the package deals, EBC have no more stock, we will continue to supply the disc and pad package but with a switch to Mintex standard or Mintex Xtreame

"MINTEX XTREME" The all new Mintex compound performance road pad has received the highest approval in recent back to back tests in leading Japanese car magazines in the US, Japan and now the UK

To date we are the sole stockist for the 300zx MINTEX EXTREME fittment pad and although they cost more than the normal Mintex pad the benefit to the more discerning performance driver is rewarding in higher temperature stability which means less fade, low metal content which is nicer to the discs, superior compound for consistent pedal feel and still with low dust so will not spoil the look of your alloy wheels.

Be aware that performance pads do not last as long as standard items by the nature of their design.

Front calipers do have a tendancy to seize and in most cases a simple strip and replacement of piston seals will effect a cure, when this occurs usually a hard or firm pedal action is the result, this can actually mislead drivers in to believing the brakes are good because they are firm" but the braking action is often poor.
